Anybody else have strange scuba diving dreams?I had one last night,I was diving a wreck and went from having 3000psi to 300 in like 15 seconds! So now I'm rushing to the anchor to begin my ascent so I WALKED to the line and all the sudden it was like I was out of the water and had to pull myself up with my arms.I sure was glad when I woke up,but it made me want to go diving awful bad.

That because you go sleeping with your full equipment. Go sleeping without bcd, tank and regulator and these dreams will stop. As well the relationship with your wife will improve again:D

I had a weird scuba dream where I was at an underwater wedding. I was the bride which struck me as particularly odd (I've been single for a long time). I was wearing some flowing gown over my swimsuit. My groom was a handsome guy I know who is also a diver. The guests were a pod of dolphins hovering with the human guests. It was all very lovely and pretty bizarre.

I had one of those ultra-realistic dreams once where I was diving, but the dive site was Disneyland (specifically - Main Street a la Escape from LA), and it was all about 100 feet underwater. In my dream I was swimming through the buildings thinking, "This isn't right..."

Heck, maybe with global warming that dream will come true one of these days =)

Oh! And I just had one last night that was pretty bizarre. Some of my dive buddies and I were diving on a wreck (the wreck was like a research vessel / cruise ship), trying to recover some evidence of what had happened to cause it to sink. General consensus was that it was a seamonster of some sort, and we were trying to recover a towed camera housing that had gotten snagged on the wreck. We had a cable that we were snaking through the wreck to attach the camera to, but it snapped and we couldn't get the camera back out. Turns out it didn't really matter, because the camera didn't have any film in it and wouldn't have been much use anyway.

At some point in the dream, I was diving outside of the wreck and on voice comms with one of my dive buddies. This real weird fish kept swimming up and rubbing against me, and in my dream I was asking my dive buddy what kind of fish it was. He told me "Well... it lives in rocks - must be a rockfish" I think one of my cats must have been rubbing against me in real life, because this fish was real cuddly and soft...

My weirdest dream ever was that I was a chicken, playing basketball inside of a bar with Brittney Spears and Shaq. Analyze that, rofl.

I love bizzaro dreams!

When I have SCUBA-related dreams that I actually remember (I remember very few dreams because I sleep so soundly), they usually end with me waking up and rushing to my field guides to figure out what the heck was that that I saw???

I dream scuba dreams virtually every nite...I'll try to remember one for tomorrow

My best scuba dreams are usually right after I get back from vacation. I'm floating on a reef in warm water, there's beautiful fish and coral all around. I am at one with the universe. Zen.

That's exactly what happened when I got back from Coz. The whole week I was there there I had a blast and slept really deeply. When I got home, though, I woke up a couple of times every morning between 0200 and 0400 in my bedroom wondering:

1) Where the h**l I was
2) Who the h**l's bed I was in and if they were going to be back soon (it was my bed)
2) How the h**l I ended up underwater without any equipment/tanks
3) How I was breathing without a reg/tanks (I routinely held my breath for a full 30 seconds after realizing number 3)
4) How I'd get to the surface / where the surface was considering I saw the ceiling when I looked up

Then I just 'swam' around my room 'til I snap back to reality a minute or two later. I had the sensation of being neutrally buoyant and thought the entire world, including the street outside my window, was under water. It was INCREDIBLE!

I had an absolutely great time in Coz. I think the dreams were probably inspired by latent stress from my first ocean dives/first night dives/first drift dives/first deep dives/first boat dives/AOW training/Nitrox training and being a very new diver. I only had 7 dives when I splashed for the first Coz dive! Still ... I wouldn't have traded those dives for anything!

ok ... now tell me I'm nuts. :14:

I did a freshwater dive this morning. When I got home I took a nap and had a dream that while I was diving I forgot I was wearing my drysuit and pee'd in it.

Nah, I'm still having nightmares about getting caught at school naked.

i had one dream where I was diving in, what I assume, was an old town they flooded for a resevoir. I opened a door and inside were sharks... great whites, black tips, etc. My brain didn't think that sharks in an apparently fresh water environment was weird, but it did pick up on the fact that the sharks looked like they were in a film loop complete with dirty bits and streaks on the film.

I also dream fairly lucidly to the point that I can realize it's a dream and change things to fit my will. I dreamt I ran out of air while hanging out on a reef/wreck area, then I was like "this is just a dream, I don't need a regulator" and just spat it out and continued to dream dive.

Yeah, don't fall for that one when you get narced. Hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Oh I do have a dream that some woman likes me at times, but I can recogonize those as fantasies. :silly:
