I have a DUI Weight and Trim as well. I bought it primarily for cold water diving as I use 16-20 pounds of ditchable weight and don't like that on a waist belt. As Spectrum pointed out it also eliminates the conflict between the crotch strap and weight belt. I used it diving wet in Belize this year and found that I liked it. The only issue is that I have to climb the boat ladder with everything on except fins because removing and passing up my backplate/wing would leave me weighted, in the water, with no flotation.....not a good situation.

I was just wondering. I just got a webbing weight belt and coated weights. I am changing over to a BPW set up and this is the best for what I will be doing. Thanks for the input everyone.

A lot depends on how much weight you use and where it needs to be for trim. 10# or less could be put in quick release weight pouches on the waist harness and trim weights added elsewhere. Otherwise it's belts of one type or another or a weight harness.
I use the DUI Weight & Trim harness with my SS back plate and like it, I'm not fond of the standard belts but have not tried one of the Mako belts.
