Weekend options in or near the SF Bay Area?

I'm in the San Fran area for about 2 weeks on business (my first time in the area). While I'm stuck at work during the week, the weekends are mine. Any options for a visiting diver over the weekend? The other issue is I didn't bring any gear so rental is a necessity.

If you decide to dive Monterey is your best option. You'll have plenty of shops to rent from and a choice of novice to advanced dive sites.... There are boats every weekend and plenty to see even if you do not dive those weekends.

Do not pass up the chance to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pt Lobos... These are just a few of the highlights we have to offer.
