So we next headed to the brass wreck for some flounder ad although we only got two flounder, Brandon shot a huge Trigger fish and we had another great dive. 85 feet for 37 minutes, temp 83*, and viz was about 60 feet.

Well if you're not happy with your shark shots, then I am. Especially the profile shot. Thanks again for talking me into burning a vacation day to do some diving. Let's keep our eyes on the tides and try it again soon. Certainly we should do another Pickens night dive ASAP.

Agreed! I'll be out all week and this coming weekend isn't looking good for me either. Unless......Hmmmmm.......Maybe I can talk Barb into another Ft. Pickens dive........ I'll start working on it tonight when I call. ;)

Wow, the only place I managed to go is the east side jetties. I finally caught a tang and sergant major damsel, which took about 3 hours with a cast net underwater. Saw some grouper and spadefish, other than the usual, and no anemones.

The anemones are usually in sheltered spots between rocks or under ledges.

You guys give such good reports and offer such wonderful pics that I almost don't need to dive. lol. I can live vicariously through ya'll! Sounds like a great weekend.

Thanks! Hopefully our reports will inspire others to either join us, or get out on their own (with a buddy of course) and take advantage of some of the great dives we have in the area. We're fortunate enough to have a handful of good shore dives in our area, and literally thousands of boat-accessible dive spots between Dauphin Island and Panama City.

Are you guys planning to attend VortoberFest?

We were thinking about it. We'd be able to be there Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. Having never been, not knowing many people, and waiting so late to decide we were'nt sure about it. We'd like to. Are there any campsites left? Places to park a boat? I've been to Vortex once.

Great! We'll look forward to seeing you there. Hetland, Jhayes, and Myself are in Campsite 11. Stop by and say Hi!
