weekday dives in Monterey

Does anyone dive in Monterey during the week, specifically Tuesdays? I haven't dove in Monterey (or the ocean for that matter). All my diving has been in a lake up in Redding (Whiskeytown lake) and I would like to dive down here in Monterey. I work weekends and get off work Tuesday mornings. I would like someone to dive with that can help me get used to diving in salt water. I haven't dove in a couple years and I don't have much experience.

Okay, cfsdiver, I'm intrigued. Help me understand the logistics. You work all weekend, get off on Tuesday, drive down to Monterey without getting any sleep, get in a couple of shore dives, and then drive back for work?

BTW, have you seen any of the buildings I've heard that are under Whiskeytown Lake?

Ok, let me clear that part up. I live in Redding but work in the bay area. I work for a fire department and my work week is Sat, Sun, Mon, with an occasional Tue. I would normally get off work at 8am (more like 9am when my relief gets here) so I wouldn't be travelling all day just to dive. Oh I work 72 hours straight.

No I haven't seen any of the building in whiskeytown lake. Do you know where they might be? I would like to find them.

You mean you have Tuesday thru Friday off or at least Wed thru Fri? And yeah, your situation is clearer now. You should be able to find someone to dive with during the week; too bad not me. I'm so tied to the Monday thru Friday work thing.

I heard rumors of the buildings from some people I know. I'll contact one and maybe he can give you details.

yes I have Tuesday thru Friday off. sorry about that. I guess I should have been a little bit clearer on my first post. I have been working this schedule for so long I forget others may not know how my schedule works.

I would love to find out where those buildings might be. I think it would be fun to explore them.

We should talk...off-line. I'll be back in CA this coming Tuesday after having been away at my second home on Little Cayman for the past 3 months, and then I'll definitely be looking for mid-week diving buddies. I promise I'm very tolerant of all kinds of novice behavior, as long as you are willing to listen. I don't want to drive all the way to Monterey to do 30 minute dives, but if you're willing to work with me I'll have you up to 60 minute dives at depth in no time at all. I'm usually teaching on the weekends, so if you want to go out on Tuesdays that's just super as far as I'm concerned!
