I'll be on Utila as of this Thursday. I just looked at the forecast out of curiosity more than anything else. 10 Day Weather Forecast for Bay Islands (Utila) - weather.com It says scattered thunder storms for everyday on their 10-day forecast, so I'm wondering what that means for Utila because I realize that in some places scattered thunder-storms means a 5-minute dump and then the sun the rest of the day. Thanks

It's July - that means some chance of night time scattered showers and night time thunderstorms. We expect to see lightning in the distance over the mainland at night. At night an occasional squall blows over the island. Days are sunny and hot for the vast majority of time. For example on weather.com it has thunderstorms indicated for today and we are sweltering in 90deg heat, sunshine no real cloud cover to talk about except very high level haze. I could see the mainland clearly this morning but not so much by lunchtime. Not expecting rain, doesn't look like anything is coming. A chance of showers after dark. The worst that could happen is I'll be stuck in Tranquila bar for 30 mins longer than I planned until the a thunderstorm has rolled by!

I find this site much more useful than weather.com
Port Royal, Isla de Roatan, Honduras, Honduras Weather and Wave Forecast - Tide-Forecast.com
Look at the mm of rainfall and you'll see they are very small and mostly at night.

In general, expect hot hot and hot, sunny and sunshiney with perhaps a passing cloud (and if lucky a quick shower) to cool down with and perhaps wash the dust of the street!
