I just got a Waterproof 5/10mm size M hood. It is quite hard to get on and I feel like that it is really tight on my chin. But it fits well otherwise. Should I go one size up?

yes, worth a try (but could also be worth trying other brands as they might fit the shape of your head better)

Is the openings around the face trimmable?

I had the same experience. I just recently got a Waterproof 5/10 hood in size XL. I’ve had probably four hoods of various brands previous to this, all XL. Yet this is the first one where I feel uncomfortable wearing it: mainly from pressure on my jaw.

It’s not overly uncomfortable, and I’m hoping it might stretch a bit with wear. But yes: if you’re on the fence, move up a size.

I even went through the effort of measuring my head before I purchased it.Unfortunately, all of the hoods between XL and 3XL have very similar measurements on the website, so there wasn’t much to go by.

Oh well. Thanks for starting this thread: hopefully this will help others. (Of course, did I Google for sizing information before I bought it? Nope… :-) )
