Lots of good stuff and advice here so this only adds one more anecdotal data point on Otterbox performance.

As an experimental tool in my development of an LED Upgrade for L&M Halogen lights, I modified an Otterbox to perform as a battery box to provide power to experimental LED lights.

A leak with Li-Ion batteries inside would have been quite a show. Bottomline --in all my test dives to up to 90-100 feet the Otterbox never leaked.

The battery box served its purpose. The light I developed and the experimental Otterbox are shown in the pictures attached.
