Water Temps OGB,Back, Front Week of 6/5

Considering diving wet this weekend for first time this year. Can anybody tell me what the water temps are like at OGB/Front/Back? Thanks.

Lewisevans just posted that he got 50F at Front Beach on Thursday, 6/4/09. Probably shallower than 20 feet would be my guess.

I've been finding up to a 6F drop in temp when going deeper than 25 feet and sometimes that much of a drop from low to high tide, even in the shallows.

I find Sandy Bay Yacht Club's water temp readings are a pretty good predictor of the temps in the shallower areas of the nearby beaches.

Current temp (from about 11am Friday, the 5th) is 53F.

Please post if you see some keeper flounder, as I'm hoping they're more plentiful at Front Beach by Sunday, the 7th.... I'm hungry!

minimum temp recorded at OGB wed nite was 50 degF at 48 feet.

wow! 50F at 48' is pretty nice, since 2 weeks ago it was 42F

yup, 50 at Front Beach yesterday (6/4) and it was all under 20 feet. Today at Folly Cove it was 46 at 50 feet.

Thanks for the answers. I think I'll be diving dry for a while. (Last year I think I only made 4 dives wet.) Likely will dive OGB tomorrow as none of my buddies seems to be getting out.

yup, 50 at Front Beach yesterday (6/4) and it was all under 20 feet. Today at Folly Cove it was 46 at 50 feet.

At Front Beach my computer recorded 49 degrees at 29 feet. Which is still pretty good.

Dove Front Beach today. Temperature I recorded was 51 degrees at 30ft. I wore a full 5mm also with a hooded 5mm vest on top of that. Suprisingly wasnt cold on either dive. Actually saw a bunch of flounder, at least 2 that were big enough. Lots of lobster but they were all short (didnt have a catch bag and wasnt bug hunting yet)

Yep, I'll be at Front Beach early this morning. By all means, say hi when you come by.
