Thanks for the answers. I think I'll be diving dry for a while. (Last year I think I only made 4 dives wet.) Likely will dive OGB tomorrow as none of my buddies seems to be getting out.
Dave,
I did manage to get out yesterday AM. I got a last minute green light and immediately bee lined it for Cape Ann as had to promise to be back by 5. I thought I had your cell on my BB and was going to give you a call on way down to meet up. I figured you may have already been in the water anyway. I drove by Norman's woe as it's a good dive to dive at high tide. It was a bit rough. The winds were N. East. I was hoping more north than East. I ended up at Lanes cove.
Surpisingly, it was calm up there. With a full moon, it was an unusually high tide which made getting in and out easy. The decent vis is back! Interestingly, a lot of sediment looking like saw dust on the kelp. This may be the sediment that caused the bad vis in past weeks. It's still not bonaire vis but at least in normal 15-20 foot range
As for the temps, at depth and at base of the wall, (60 fsw) it's warmed up to 48 degrees. On the surface, it's 53 degrees, 50 at about 20 fsw.
Warm enough to do a couple dives wet with a nice warm up top side in the sun. Though when I get out, I try to get back in ASAP as usually have to head back.
BTW..
Found 3 golf balls! A good golf ball dive.
Saw a Striper, a couple Ocean Pout, a sea raven and lots of bugs there. (one huge lobzilla) Always a great dive.
No issues w/ locals.
