Can anybody tell me what the temperature usually is underwater on those dive spots in september as I am going on a liveaboard over there early september.
Need to know if 5mm shorty would be enough to bring or should I also bring with me my 5mm semi-dry suit aswell ?
I usually dive with my 0,5mm lycra when the temp is between 27 upward in Asia.
Thanks !

It will be 28 or 29 degrees in the BDE sites. You may do a dive or two slightly further north when it might be a degree or two lower. The Red Sea is very very salty , so don't bring or use anything that will make you more buoyant. You might be OK with a skin , but otherwise the shorty should be fine. I dived these sies many time with a very thin 2 /3 ml wetsuit and was fine.... I would be cold in 27 degrees though.

Have a wonderful trip !

Ok thanks, if minimum 27 degrees I am then fine with 0,5mm lycra. The operator told me it was like 25 - 26 degrees, a bit confused now.

First days of the week I find it nice and warm. Day 3 I get a bit chilly later on the day. After that every dive becomes colder until the end of the week I really start getting cold. Therefore I only dive drysuit, no matter where I am. By adding underwear I can accustomize to changing needs. Buddy of mine dives with 5 mm all week and finds it too warm in the begin of the week, and nice and cosy till the end.

There are no real rules for what to bring, but i would suggest a 5 mm is a good thing for later in the week.
