Warning: Possible Contamination of Local Seafood
By Shawn McGinnis, KTLA News

LOS ANGELES State health authorities are warning consumers not to eat sport-harvested shellfish, sardines, anchovies, or commercially sold lobster or crab taken from Southern California beaches.
It's feared the seafood may be contaminated with domoic acid, a naturally occurring toxin that can cause human illness and death.
Shellfish such as oysters, clams, mussels and scallops could also contain dangerous levels of this toxin. Officials recommend keeping the products away from animals as well.
Commercially caught shellfish sold to certified harvesters and dealers are subject to frequent mandatory testing and are safe to eat.
