After we got off the boat I informed my mom what happened and she ended up calling the police (who were wonderful and super professional and super good to deal with) and they took an official report down and gave the boat diver a written warning and now it’s on file that he spent almost an hour sexually harassing me..

Sorry to hear of your ordeal. What a shock it must have been. I hope the police do something about it.

Wow. SO sorry. That should never happen to anyone. Increadibly disgusting. Wish I had been there. And a warning??? His butt should be fired and blacklisted.

Sorry to read about this. Pretty sad behavior for anyone especially the guy who owns the operation. Maybe a dropped tank on his foot would of make him see his bad choice or words towards you.

Just wondering why on earth you’d think I’d be lying, how would that benefit me?? Really sad that every time someone speaks out about sexual harassmen/assault someone has to jump in and say hm maybe they’re lying! I’m being anonymous, there’s no benefit for me at all. I wasn’t aware of this forum, but was told this was a good place to spread my warning as I don’t want anyone to experience this ever.
Please, do not take this as an offense.
But........
It happened before on this forum that first time poster shows up, writes about his/hers bad experience and than it turned out that it was a competitor trying to get a larger market share.
Like you said, you are anonymous, most of us here are (in a sense that no other member knows me, apart from this forum). All your postings are on this thread only. I'm sorry, but we do have a right to be a little bit careful.
On the other hand, I might be prejudicial, but just looking at that picture makes me disliking that guy immediately.

What a terrible thing to endure. The worse thing that day should've been the ear problem and missing a dive, never that a jerk takes opportunity of the lack of witnesses to say (or attempt to do) whatever he feels like.

What bothers me greatly is the guy was already showing this behavior while underway to the dive site, but no one says or does anything. Not the dive-masters, not the other divers, no one.

How many times has this guy shown his a$$ an no one has introduced his mouth to a solid object? People don't wake up one day and decide to say uncomfortable things to another human, this is something that gets worse with time due to lack of "timely education"

+1 for a "timely education"..................but..............he might enjoy that sort of thing.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal...thx for sharing. Good to know what rocks these scumbags are hiding under.

While I don't condone violence out of principle, I can't help thinking - in private, of course - that creeps like that ought to receive a knee where their legs attach to their torso. Preferably as hard as possible, and if his family jewels get stuck in his throat, that'd be a bonus.

That's fantasy, of course. In real life, it's almost always better to keep your cool and report through proper channels. But a guy can dream...
I don’t condone violence, but it would be better if you had a German Shepherd who was trained to go for frankfurters. (Like in the movie Kick Ass...)

Alleged sexual harrassment by Captain Paul of Jolly Dive
Review of Jolly Dive Center
Reviewed today
I must respond to the review posted yesterday
I was a diver on the boat that day.
I spoke with the complainant before the first dive, during the surface interval, and after the second dive. She came across as a quiet shy individual from a disparate family background. Two gentlemen were with her. I believe they were her step ? father and brother. They lived thousands of miles apart from the complainant. They seemed very affable individuals and turned out to be very competent divers
The two dives were lead by Paul´s spouse Cornelia.
On the first dive the complainant had a problem entering the water. I remained on the surface with her, assisted her until she was ready to descend and accompanied her down to the the group. The dive was uneventful. I discussed the entry problem with her between the dives.
The second dive was a drift dive. In this case this means that the boat captain follows the divers exhaled air bubbles in order to keep track of the location of the dive group. This is no easy task in a choppy sea in close proximity to a shallow reef. It demands maximum concentration. Marker buoys are carried by the group to show their location should the captain lose track of the divers. I point all this out because it is extremely unlikely that alleged sexual shennanigans could take place during this period. The skill needed for navigation of the boat alone renders the allegations baseless and verifies that they are completely without any foundation. ´
The complainant had an ear problem and aborted her second dive. She was accompanied to the surface by an instructor. After the dive, I chatted about her problem. Her demeanour was the same as before. She was not unhappy, upset, angry or tearful. She was not isolated and sat near her relatives. There was not the slightest indication that anything untoward had taken place. When the boat docked everybody departed on a good terms.
I will not speculate on her reason for posting this review.
I have dived for over 40 years with dive operations world wide. I have dived with Captain Paul and his wife Cornelia of Jolly Dive for many years. Theirs is an operation where safety is paramount and the humour unique. It is Paul who dives wearing a bow tie. He is one of the most well respected figures on Antigua who will go out of his way to assist anyone
It bothers me that this little girl, for reasons known only to herself, and clearly in need of some help, is able to post such a damaging review with scant regard for the consequences
