Hi,

we're looking for a few good (wo)men to help us out in the Local Guides team.

What's a Local Guide, you ask?

Well...
headhunter:
We have started a group we call Local Guides. These are people who actually plan get togethers locally and help bring the online community together at actual sites.

We like to select people that are already doing things to help out on ScubaBoard to make people feel welcome and/or getting their local dive communities together for beach dives that often include a picnic and at times even weekend camping on the beach. In SoCal (Southern California) we now also have a monthly boat dive as a result of having so many people come to our monthly beach dives.

If you have any questions about how you can be more involved here online or in your local communities, feel free to PM El Orans or myself and we'd be happy to do what we can to help you.

I'm also happy to help out if I can , particularly on the African stuff . Shout if you're interested .

What a Local Guide should have or be...
  • A thorough knowledge of their local divesites;
  • Willingness to organise trips & get-togethers;
  • Fun to be with;
  • Proven track record;
  • Quality over quantity;
  • Willingness to help;
  • Creative spirit;
  • Quality assurance mindset.

Any other questions? Just click this link: Send me a PM!

Notice to all who volunteered: we haven't forgotten you. We've just been very busy.

El Orans is correct. In fact, to say that we've been "very busy" is an understatement! ;)

If anyone in areas around the globe that may be currently under-represented by the Local Guides (which is pretty much everywhere besides the Phillippines, Hawaii, Northern California and Southern California) is interested in being a local guide, please send me a PM or just post to this thread to let me know.

Thank you all for your interest.

Christian
