You obviously aren't educated on the subject.

I'm looking for people who are interested in going to this...didn't really want your take on rebreathers, so why post??

Regarding point one .... the data speaks for itself. I don't need to be a rebreather diver to look at the data.

Regarding point two .... this is ScubaBoard for crying out loud. We share opinions! You're a master at it yourself. Sorry if I rained on your parade.

You coukld just as easily say teh same thing about open circuit... there are more OC deaths than CCR deaths.. but the rate is higher for CCR..

also CCR divers usually are doing alot more inwater time than the typical OC diver..

Alot (not all) of the experienced CCR diver deaths are those pushing the limits.. Frankly some are well beyond anything that could be done on OC...

... the rate is the key point. Comparing numbers is meaningless as the size of the two populations differ greatly.

Dang Jep, when are you having one of these in the Keys? :D

I can't believe you asked me that. You live in the rebreather capitol of the world or damn near close.

I'm not hosting it....they have this thing called a minimum amount of people needed...it's in my best interest to find more.

Then again, having it on V-day is prolly not the wisest idea. :shakehead:

Yeah, but I thought I would show you MY SUPPORT for this kind of activity and post in your thread. Should I have gotten your permission first? :D

Ohh dear lord. Yes, all posts need to be cleared through me first. :shakehead:

I encourage the spread of misinformation.

How you been Pete?

but just as easiy as that there are alot of dead oc divers from running out of air especially in an overhead.. if these guys were on a CCR chance are they would be alive today..

A rebreather is a tool, how well you use it depends on the individual diver.. To a new diver a CCR is more dangers, to an experienced CCR diver, the CCR is probably alot safer than OC as you have alot more options when the proverbial ***** hits tha fan..

I know of at least one occasion that if I was on OC I would be dead right now.. I was inside a shipwreck and there was a cave in... The CCR saved my as*
