When these things get to the point where 12 months goes by without an experienced rebriether diver killing themselves for doing one small thing wrong, then maybe I'll consider them. For the dives I do, open circuit scuba is far safer and more than sufficient.

You coukld just as easily say teh same thing about open circuit... there are more OC deaths than CCR deaths.. but the rate is higher for CCR..

also CCR divers usually are doing alot more inwater time than the typical OC diver..

Alot (not all) of the experienced CCR diver deaths are those pushing the limits.. Frankly some are well beyond anything that could be done on OC...

I did one of these rebreather try outs. I haven't exhausted my limits with OC. So the risks outweighed the rewards. But the theory is very interesting and I still like reading about it. Plus, it was cool trying it out. I did the KISS and Inspiration.

You obviously aren't educated on the subject.

I'm looking for people who are interested in going to this...didn't really want your take on rebreathers, so why post??

I'm just trying to recruit people to go to this event. That is all.

Point well made. There are plenty of threads debating the pros and cons of rebreathers. People can't attend an event like this if they do not know of its existence. Thank you for posting the announcement.

Dang Jep, when are you having one of these in the Keys? :D

I'm sure you know plenty of folks in your SOI that'll let you take a swim around the pool...:eyebrow:
