To avoid logging a dip in the pool as a "dive" with Suunto computers, take a moment to turn the dive mode to "OFF." The dive mode cycles between Air, EAN, Gauge, And Off. Turning it to "OFF" prevents it from entering dive mode when the water contacts get wet.

Can't be 100% certain of the D9, but this works with Mosquito and Cobra. I often do this to avoid logging my sessions in the pool with students, I don't like to see the history cluttered with a buch of 12 foot dives!

I have just purchased the D6 along with the 2.3 Dive Manager software. Dont know about the D9 but the D6 can store up to 36 hours of dive time in the Dive log memory, and up to 999 hours and 999 dives in the total dive history memory. I would imagine that this would be enough space to store all your dives if you were on a dive holiday with no access to a computer assuming that you averaged 1 hour per dive, you could store up to 36 dives before they began to delete the oldest one.

As a watch computer the D6 is slightly smaller than the D9 so would be more suited if you were to wear it every day. It is also cheaper than the D9 but has most of the features except for the wireless tank info. It has 2 gas switching option whereas the D9 has 3 gas switching option. And is tested to 150 metres and the D9 to 200. These are the main differences.

I used Sunto mosquito as well useful friendly

I am getting my D9 today and excited as hell... one question... I have started reading through the manual and I see that there is a chance of someone ells with the same computer diving with the same frequancy for the tranmitter than you are. According the manueal you must turn your cilinder to below 10bar and the again within a few seconds to above 15 bar and this will then tell the transmitter to choose a different frequincy on the watch... can someone help me there?

buy a mechanical guage, it tells you what is in YOUR tank and doest need batteries :)

HI Smartcosse

I have a normal guage as well. I bought the D9 not only for that funtion but it is an added extra. The D9 actualy works out how much time hou have left of diving on the air that you have left in the cilinder by means of your breathing rate. My mechanical guage will be my backup from now on... The LDS just phoned me and told me that it has arrived and I can come and pick it up.... I cant wait... He actualy asked if he could keep it... That will be the day....

Got my D9 yesterday and I must say that this thing shouts "BLING BLING"!!! It is really one of the most beatifull dive watches/computers I have ever seen and although it weighs 110g it does not feel heavy at all. It is actualy more comforable than my Chris Benz that I wear every day.

Well, we will see after the first dive how it performs in its natural environment and will report back.
