Has anyone had any experince with a vyper acting up? Mine will only do the first screen after batt was replaced. If the mode button is pushed the depth goes to 475 feet and the ceiling goes to 275 feet and then the buttons become in-opp. If the batterie is removed, the same thing will happen again. It seems locked up. It will beep and the back light will work. I took it to my shop and they said they were going to send it out, but called me within 20 min to tell me prices on new cuz the computer part of mine is shot.(what could they have learned bout my computer in 20 min?) It shows no signs of being flooded or smacked around. Can this be sent back to the factory or is my shop trying to wack me for new? Any advice in this matter will be nice.

Sorry to hear yours is acting up. I have the vyper from several years ago and now have the Scubapro SmartTec. I gave my Vyper to my son who uses it and we have never had any issues with it. My brother in-law also has a vyper and his has NOT acted up on him either.

Advice... I would take this time to upgrade if you can afford it.

additional info;
not shown in pic, ASC Time flashing.
Mode button only turns on light
Time button changes 275 to 423 and it then flashes in sinc with the ASC Time flashing and briefly goes to an errant, but changing time
Plan will only show a small book up in front of the 4 for a sec

Send it back to Suunto. They are pretty reliable but the odd one goes wrong. You shouldn't have any problems getting it replaced.

Yes, send it back. I use a Cobra with a Viper as a backup and have never had problems.
