I'm a Fish!
I was looking at a VR3 (newer model with G3 & G10) set to G10. I see the icons for air, nitrox and trimix on the bottom but can only select air or nitrox. Am I missing something?? I'd like to set it for trimix & can see the trimix bottle, BUT there's no trimix in the gas menu.
Also, Can you still get "pins" for this computer?
BTW-the original manual is missing & the online manual states that you can select a gas if it's "ON," but I didn't see a way to turn on/off (add or remove them from the gas menu) specific gases.
Thanks in advance for any help!

These guys are out of business to my knowledge, no support, no spares no pins. I would not bother with any VR.

Is this something that you own?

I have two newer VR3's and a totally unlocked older one. Dove the newer ones and bought the older one just for history. They all work just fine. I actually love them. Not as much as my Petrel 2, though.

You can't seriously be thinking about buying one. Are you? They are stupidly complex. Not complicated, but complex. Loaned one to a friend when she was just getting into computers/algorithms. Now she is totally comfortable with just about any DC. :D

c'mon. there has to be a good story here. Fess up...

LOL!! I good story indeed! I got one for my B-Day (eBay???) b/c I asked for a trimix DC. I have an AI DC but wanted a back-up for deep/overhead enviroment dives. My GF is not a diver & wouldn't have spent much (probably under $40 but I'm guessing) on it. It is "complex" but not too bad considering everything that it does. I printed a manual & feel pretty comfortable with it, but I don't understand why I can see a trimix icon (bottle with "TX") on the screen but can't select 'mix??
From what I've read online, delta p was sold to a company called Avon/Technology In Depth, and I found one online dealer still selling them. At least they (Dixie Divers) still have the VR3 listed for sale.
If anyone knows how to turn on trimix, I'd be grateful; perhaps the DC is just Air & Nitrox capable but shows the mix icon? It didn't have a battery in it when I got it, so it may have reverted to basic mode?
If it's just Air & Nitrox, I'm still happy as I can use it on "shallow" dives (& it WAS a gift!) and calculate deco on my last safety stop. I use 100% O2, and I can set the DC to 99% which should give just a bit of extra deco time.
Thanks for the input & (in advance) for any other info. If either companies mentioned above offer service/support I'll post more info here to help other owners.

If delta p is truly GONE, why didn't they release the pins to unlock all of the DCs already sold? A pdf emailed to dealers couldn't cost much, and the pins would've already been created in case owners wanted to upgrade.
Someone should figure-out how to hack the software to open-up all of the features!
