Vortoberfest IV 2008 - After Action Reports

Thanks a ton to Shane, Andrea, Johnny, Corey, and the rest of the phenomenal staff at Vortex Springs. Without y'all, Vortoberfest wouldn't be possible.
I had a great time / great dives. Thanks Clay, Matt, Jeff, Jamie, Chris, Andy, & Andy. I really enjoyed diving with you folks. To all the people I met, (Cathy, Cathy, Cathy, Denise, Andy, Andy, WJefferis, Glen, Mrjimboalaska, Chris, Donna) it was nice to meet you all, the pleasure was all mine. If I left anyone out, it's unintentional and I apologize. Blame it on Johnny's J-Bombs and Carolyn's B-Mamas!
See everyone next year. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

outstanding shots WJ. puts mine to shame. But I was able to get a pic of the diver in the suit. That was an awsome sight.
This was my first VortoberFest and won't be my last. Thank you Jaime and your wife, and "K" and Lynda for the help on Friday. It was well appreciated.
I'll be looking forward to springfest now

I had a great time with everyone once again! I am sorry about the offshore dives, not my fault there was a small craft advisory. That was the Cpt's call. I did have a great time diving with Bob and Jim at the Jetties! Even tho they did lose me! LOL! Thanks again for a great dive Sunday Bob and yes the eye is getting a bit better! (BUNGIE CHORD ACCIDENT).

The FEST was awesome from what I remember, and Tom came by Sunday morning, to personally show me the blackmail videos he is threatening to place on you tube! I feel the love already! I hope everyone had a great time and I worked really hard to make this event as fun as possible! Shane, Andrea, Johnny Mac and crew are awesome and we are blessed to have such wonderful people as friends, divers, and fellow SB'ers! They definitely deserve our appreciation for ALL of their hardwork, costs, and efforts towards the event!

Spring-Springfest is in the works and we have ideas for more fun and entertainment!

How can one express so much joy and love for fellow divers and friends?

I don't know.

But I do want to thank Shane, Andrea and family for their allowing us to have Vortoberfest. As was stated, without them, it could not happen.

Johnny Mac, job well done. Thank you.

And all my friends and dive buddies . . . THANK YOU . . . for being there.

God, I love you guys.

And Shark Woman . . . never, never, never in my life will I forget my "The Kraken" t-shirt.

I'm surprised there aren't more pictures! I KNOW we had to have pics from Saturday night. Tommy, you were out there with the camera. We demand photographs! That was the best 'Fest so far.
I didn't get dinner Friday at Sally's even with the pre-ordering. When I still didn't have food by the time everyone else was done eating, I just went ahead and canceled my order. It was fun getting to go and hang out. Flightlead, Mark (can't remember his board name), WDunne-whatever the end of his name is, lol, and I went to Morrison's Saturday. I only did one dive b/c I didn't feel like wrestling back into my wetsuits again, but the guys got two in. The party was a blast. I wasn't planning on diving again Sunday, but after that excellent breakfast we got to have, I decided to dive Vortex a couple times. Martin and I went down and just swam around for awhile. I worked on my trim and buoyancy and he shot his lift bag and we eventually came back up. Annelle and I were going to do another dive together while the guys and Denise played around and then all of us join up, but her ears were giving her some problems, so we just came up and sat on the surface for a few before going back on land and packing up. Sunday afternoon came far too quickly. I got a nice little jolt back into the real world when I got back to T-town Sunday evening and hit a parked car with my dad's truck while trying to avoid a concrete barrier. I've never had a wreck and my first one is with a parked car. I evidently didn't swing out far enough and I clipped the other vehicle's fender with the truck bed. That was embarrassing.

Shane and Johnny Mac you are awesome!! That was so funny when Andrew won the mask for karaoke. He had been in the audience stirring up support before his performance and bless his heart he murdered the song but we all gathered around and started shouting and applauding and Shane let him have the prize. BTW, he is a poor college kid. AND, he didn't have his own mask. He was borrowing one of ours. So it was extra special for him to get it. Thanks everyone.
