I hope that they are checking the credentials of any divers who respond to that call.

I hope that the the search in the cave will be called off. If Toland and Edd can't find him then its out of reach for anyone. I can't see where anymore risk is worth it. For anyone out there who is reading these threads, this is what happens when egos and risk takers enters caves. If you want to go in get trained. Don't put your family through this. NOTHING in there is worth dying over.

I am curious about something. On average, how long do some of these search/recovery dives take? One hour.....two.....several?

From what I understand, the body is usually found in one or two dives. Most of the time, the recovery team has a very good idea of where the body can be located, based on the deceased diver's plan or the report of a surviving buddy. Getting the body out of the cave can be a bit challenging, though, from what I've heard.

I believe he's asking about the runtime of the individual dives...

I believe they were running about 2 hours. I know one diver told me each dive was consisting of 30 to 45 minutes of deco obligations.

So at this point, where do people go from here?

I understand the importance for the family to want the body found. It provides them closure. But as it was said, two of the divers that searched are the best, Toland and Edd, and his body location was not identified. They have conducted topside searches also.

So what now? Is it possible that sometime later on, his body may come dislodged from where ever it is and be retrivable?
