I'd like to get out this coming week but am wondering what the viz looks like after the storms of this past weekend. Looking specifically for information around Cape Ann. Might want to do Cathedral Rock or Folly mid-week. Anybody?

TIA - David

I get this from North Atlantic Scuba:

N.A.S. Local Dive Conditions
September 10, 11 & 12, 2012
Thought of the day: Actually used all the bed covers last night. Felt nice to feel the cool air. But It will also feel nice to get back to Summer weather and diving on Wednesday!
Next Group Dive: Check the website and Face Book Fan Page for results of Dive Your Brains Out and more group dives will be posted soon on the Store News Link
High Tide: 8:56 AM on Wednesday, September 12
Low tide: 6 hours (approx) before and after high.

Surface Water Temp: 67 degrees
Underwater Visibility: 2 to 9 feet
Seasonally Compensated Dive Score: 3.1 out of 10
Forecast: Monday will have a "fall feel", with high air temps only near 70, and north to north northwest winds at 10 to 25 knots. The ocean is a bit white and diving is a bit tough. Tuesday will also be sunny and cool. with east northeast winds at 5 to 10 knots, shifting to southwest very late. The "fall feel" will continue and local diving will also be tough for most of the day. On Wednesday, it is back to summer, with sunny skies and warm air. The winds will be southwest at light velocities and diving will be coming around. Looks like "summer feel" just might hang around for a bit and maybe even the weekend: stay tuned to see!

So prob not that great. Gonna have to sit tight for a little longer.

dove sunday at Stage Fort Park - less than 2ft vis - but at least it was warm

Good things heard about Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth ME on Thursday 9/13.

Dove Plymouth on Friday afternoon @ dead DEAD low @ ~330 - decent 6-10 ft viz. No halocline. Decent haul for bugs.

We dove Gloucester Sat, and viz was 10 maybe 12 ft, I would say, and water was 56d.
It's been over two decade since I dived these waters, so I don't know if that was good viz or not, but it sure beat the 4 to 6 inches of viz in the top 15ft at Lake George, Roger Rock entries last Sat. The 74d at Lake George was better, of course than the 56d off Gloucester for this warm water diver, but it was fun to finally get back to a NE dive!

And I have never had a chance of more than a passing encounter with seals before this Sat dive with Cape Ann Charters. I osted a few pics of our seal visit on fb.

We dove two sites on Cape Ann on Friday 9/14/12. Moorhead Road had reasonable viz - probably in the 15-20 range with occasionally better but not an easy entry. Low temp was 54 degrees but mostly around 57-59 (max depth 31'). Second dive was at Front Beach (we wanted an easy entry/exit). Site was flat calm, max depth we got was around 36' viz was worse (probably 5-15).

(Just figured I ought to answer my own posted question.)
