Try the Greek restaurant at the Village. It has a really good octopus appetizer dish and the gyro meat is great.

If you prefer something French and rustic, check out 79 Palms restaurant a few more miles up the road.

Check out Spinnakers for great seafood dinner and Andria's for clam chowder or fish and chips. They are both in the village on the way to Channel Islands National Park.

So many great places to eat and so little time to find them all.

Thanks for all your input. We had a great time in Ventura. The Spectre was awsome! We're planning to come back over the 4th of July weekend. To anybody who was on the Spectre with us; we had a great time diving on Anacapa Island with you. There were a lot of college students on board. I knew they were in college because if they sat still for more than five minutes they fell asleep. And that was before the diving started.

I didn't get a chance to write down the name of the second dive site we went to. We started at Cathedral Cove and ended with Underwater Island where the curent was booking (that means fast to you youngsters) but I can't remember the name of the second dive site. I'm hoping somebody who was on the boat with us that day will let me know.

Steve.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it was either goldfish bowl or landing cove.

Landing Cove rings a bell. Now that I think of it there was some kind of structure at the shore and they mentioned that sometimes there are boats parked in there.

Thanks again.

Steve.
