NO VIS makes familiar dive sites fun again!:)
I personally love the way you actually loose your way at times and rely on the compass!
The viz has been kinda average in Port Sanilac the last few weekends and what you say here is too true. I descended on a wreck I dive pretty regularly and had no idea where I was - I didn't really recognise any of the features within the 3' radius of my field of vision. The turbid conditions make you pay a lot more attention to the details and I saw lots of things I had not noticed before.

Visited Gilboa last sunday and the vis was about 20' in the tough spots better in others.
The funny thing it was like that at 130' as well made for a great skill dive.
I love navigation it is fun to watch others navigate watch your compass and try to envision just where you are at.
With the wind and bags blown it was a given where we would end up.
Great dives and it was not big water but had to do in a pinch!

CamG Keep Diving....Keep †raining....Keep Learning!

Went to Gilboa today. Assisted with a class. Viz about 30 feet or more at first dive. Quite nice.

Later on decreased to probably 20 feet. We stayed shallow..less than 35 feet. Water temp at 64 degrees.

Those catfish at the bus seem to be getting bigger ever time I see em.:shocked2:

Compass? In a quarry? Dooood, it's a quarry!! :D

It reminds me of the clouds you see some times on Lake Huron one site is great the other about 10' or less.
Keeps it real and your skills fresh!
