Again, since I am not a technical diver, and really have no interest in becoming one at this point in my life, (I am more of a :dork2: )I never even knew this forum existed.
What makes you think you need to be a Tech diver to be a PSD?

I wasn't able to view the video for whatever reason but I would certainly offer my services if I thought they needed me.

I didn't think that. But the way the SB forums are arranged, PSD is a sub forum of the Technical Diving Specialty forums. And since I am not a technical diver, I don't subscribe to new posts in that forum. Thus, I didn't know the PSD sub forum even existed.

So many of the PSD teams are basically nothing more than recreational divers using basic gear...but there are larger better funded crews. Around were I live most teams are very basic.

Well most of the problems with that are lack of funding and lack of training.

One of our local PSD dive teams has decent (but not great) funding and does regular training. The other is just a local rescue squad that has several members that are recreational certified for scuba and have a few sets of gear. I'm really surprised they haven't had an accident since any diving done in our river system here is 6" vis or less and lots of entanglement concerns.
