Yes, I think it is substantially better plus there are program options with regard to white balance now. No, I didn't use the new GoPro processing software but do need to give it a go.

For folks interested in what the Hero3+ can do above water here are some examples. I hit kiters on their forums a couple of times with Hero3+ underwater clips and stills lacking wind and imagery to offer anything from a kiting perspective. GoPros are excellent versatile cameras for all sorts of activities.
