I know the odds are long, but if anyone out there has a spot to fill for a trip next week I have come into an unexpected 10 days off. Flying out of NYC, I am looking for any chance to spend some or all of that time diving. I may just hop a Jet Blue flight to Puerto Rico.....suggestions?

Hey Grits, I am in Manhattan too, and just posted a similar thread.
Quickest and cheapest pops are to Miami, Lauderdale, or PR, I think, followed by a quick puddle jumper. Best diving from there? I'm going to Abaco next week, Bimini was my alternate, Paraguera in SW PR is great, BVI are better than you'd expect... hmmm... I am in Grand Turk right now, but that is a bit more of a pain to get to... West Palm is better than most people think.
I'll check back in with ya tomorrow evening. Gotta sleep, adventure dives start tomorrow!

Hey Grits, if you haven't left yet... COME HERE!!! The place is *empty*!!! That's good, cause it's basically me and a DM going out, but it's also bad cause the don't want to do night dives, long trips, etc., with only one paying customer.
The diving is grrrrreat! So far I've seen dolphins, turtles, and eagle rays, in addition to super-abundant reef life.
I'm diving with Oasis Divers, staying at the Salt Raker Inn (but I think they're full with some IT consultants for the gov't next week, so stay at the Osprey), and I'm here through next Thursday, 8/18.
