I shudder to think how many times I got confused from all my searching and paid too much this way. For example: I've been considering a trip to Roatan in July, but pissed that Continental will allow me to use my Delta FF miles from Houston to RTB, but won't allow me to use them on the regional jet flights out of Lubbock. Out of curiosity, I checked Cozumel. Cheapest mid-week fares...

Lubbock to Houson, RT: $184.00 + Taxes/Fees $19.70 = $203.70

Or Lubbock to Houston and on to Cozumel: $184.00 + Taxes/Fees $105.53 = $289.53

Originating in Houston for CZM would be $15 more than from Lubbock.

Funny how if I shop different dates, then return to original dates, the fares go up significantly, over 10% - unless I clear Continental cookies and run again, then they drop back down. Sneaky bastards!

There are actually several ways to avoid this trap....
Some use IP Proxies to hide their IPs. I dunno? :silly: I haven't explored that yet.

Some use travel search sites, like Cheap Flights, Cheap Hotels, Cheap Airfare, Airline Tickets, Travel Deals - SideStep - my favorite, and they do seem to hide recent activies from the same computer in finding the lowest fares.

Or if you want to clear cookies on your browser and search the airline sites directly, cool - pretty easy, easiest in Fire Fox and Google Chrome, and why would anyone want to use slow dogs like Explorer and AOL anyway, but...
Anyway, it's kinda like equalizing or checking SPGs: Early and Often! :eyebrow:
