I am looking into going on a liveaboard in Costa Rica next year. Research tends to show that the rainy season (May - Nov) is a highly recommended time to go based on water temps / visibility / marine life, especially in the Jun - Sep time. That said, there are hardly any trips that can be scheduled. Most liveaboards have no trips planned, or if they do they may only have one trip a month.
Per liveaboard.com, in July the Aggressor and Aggressor II each have only one 10 night trip. The month of August only has one 10 night trip on a vessel - Argo - and it is fully booked. September has only one 10 night trip on Sea Hunter. June has each of the boats noted with only one 10 night trip each.
Any insight as to why this is the case? Is low season really that bad for divers? Am I missing something? Seems like there are a lot of reviews suggesting to hit up this time of season and that it is popular with divers, so this seems very surprising to me.
