I read with much interest the scubadiving magazine comparative review of a bunch of computers. Particularly the chamber tests they did.

Obviously, on their default settings, the Oceanic computers are more liberal than the other brands - nothing new there, and for some folks that's a reason for buying an Oceanic.

My question is... One of my buddies uses a Mares computer. When diving with him it'd make my life easier if my VEO250 more closely matched his computer. Does anybody have any experience with what amount of conservatism I should enter into my VEO250 so that my VEO more closely matches his Mares?

Thanks.

I don't see any mention of conservatism settings in my VEO 250 manual. What are you looking at?

There isn't a way to adjust the "conservitivity" on the Veo. WHy don't you just dive your buddies profile?

Hmm, maybe you're right. I could have sworn it was possible to add some conservatism by telling the computer it was at a higher altitude. But I've been looking through the manual and can't find it. Perhaps I was just having a weird dream...

That must have been it - I must have seen it referenced on another model. Ah well. Thanks for the replies!
