oops! I thought you meant a line for attaching the BC to the boat while getting geared up. Duh.:lotsalove: For towing the boat, I use a reel.:D

Anybody have any reports on Venice vis and temp. I'm heading out to the bone yard in the am. From the weather forecasts all week and the weather forecast for tomorrow It should be perfect.

dkramer, what lb. test line or rope do you have on your reel?

eek! Don't know. It's a standard reel I bought from my LDS. I've had it for about 4 years now & the only problem I've ever had is the line getting tangled around the spool if I'm not real careful when going down. I fixed that by taking off about 15 ft of line. Now that the spool is not chalk full of line, it hardly ever tangles. I've never had any problem with a broken line & I have been out on my share of windy days as well as a few accidently snared crab trap lines.

Went to Alhambra this A.M.
Viz was about 6 to 8ft
Water temp was 69 Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...........................

Reeldreams, Nizzy and I took Reeldream's boat out to the boneyard today for some great (cold) diving. Viz was 12-15 feet, temp was 67-69, seas about 2 feet. A lot of sea nettle jellies in the area just below the surface(about 10 feet down) but no one was stung.

My haul for the day. The long one is a whale tooth. Quarter for scale

Reeldreams, I guess I missed you at the boat launch. I think I saw you guys out on the water. If I'm right my boat was to the east of yours and you were behind what looked like a commercial dive boat. I saw plenty of the nettle Jellies as well. We didn't do nearly as well as Moteman, but we did better than I ever have before. The vis was the best I've ever seen.

I'll try to hook up with you again some time.
