I picked up another 200 this morning and only stopped because my buddy was low on air, there are plenty more to be found. I also saw a beautiful Seahorse yeaterday and 6 Pipefish today. Saw them while crossing that large field of sea weed.

Whats your secret Walter? Do you dig? Brush the top? just wondering, I would like to improve my teeth finding skills

It is top secret ... we will have to follow him to find out ;)

There are no secrets. I pick them up off the surface of the sand. With time, you learn to see them better and you learn when to leave one area and go to another. I learned it all on my own and you can too, but your learning time will speed up considerably if you watch an experienced fossil hunter in action. All too often folks want to dive with me to learn how I find teeth, then they want to lead the dive.

Divergirl4u:
Why do all the teeth collect on Venice beach?

They don't, although it is a common misconception. Dig anywhere in Florida and you'll find shark teeth. Rivers and streams dig naturally. When sea level was much lower, there was a river that ran through the area. That river is now under the Gulf. We find teeth the river dug up thousands of years ago.

I knew you would know Mr Walter ... very interesting ;)

Most probably came from/washed down from an old mating area...the males shed teeth like snow falling when they do the deed...they have to hang on to the pectorial fin of their mate and it tends to break off quite a few teeth in the process.
