Venice Fossil Diving March 12-15

Hello everyone--I'll be in Bradenton March 12th through 15th and would like to try a fossil hunting dive in Venice while I'm in the area. Is anyone diving any of those days that wouldn't mind a tag along?

You might get more results if you post in Venice Fossil Divers as well.
A lot of people seem to read there and pay less attention to this board.

There are a lot of good tips for looking, and places to aim for, and charters to go with as well. You don't NEED a charter, but depends how comfortable you are swimming out from shore, and it does save a lot of energy.

I would love to, I was looking at diving Blue Heron because it's hard to find a charter running those days. You beach diving or looking to take a boat?

I would do either--charter or shore dive. I don't know the area at all. I would need some guidance.

The charters are really spotty. If you really wanna dive on a specific day, esp during the week, I think you have to beach dive or have a friend with a boat. I have more than once found myself in the parking lot at 7am and the operator didnt wanna fire up the engine because there weren't enough people. It's a weird thing in Florida.. maybe I am too used to other parts of the world, but the days with 11 divers crammed into one boat should pay for the days three divers show up. You look at charter sitres in FL and they just have calendars where they spam every day with a trip regardless of whether there's a trip or not. I will call the two main charters and see how it looks. I am looking at the 13th as a possibility.
