I went last year in July with The Ultimate Getaway on our way to The Dry Tortugas. I must of been lucky. The conditions were almost perfect. Later in the evening the current picked up pretty strong.

This am 70' vis slight current on first dive. Second dive blue water came in 100' vis moderate current. 79 degrees.
