Out of curiosity, has anyone dove Tahssis(sp?) for Six Gills? I really would love to see these sharks, and have heard the chances of seeing them there are better than Hornby.

We tried last labour day weekend...no luck. I dont think anyone saw anything last year. But the year before was very good. Hopefully its every other. Trying to book some time to get out there this summer. If you do head out there get a hold of Tahtsa Scuba Diving Charters & tours, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada Scott and Jude are awesome...they will make you feel like you are family.
Good luck:D

Thanks for the heads up Ogre..I will be on the Island diving again Canada Day weekend (prior)..and we are considering heading there. I was told that the gov't. docks were the best place to spot them..one can drive right to those correct?

Actually if you are staying in the campground there is a nice beach entry in front, if not yes the govt. dock works. Watch for sporties, lots of recreational boats around.

First weekend of June, vis at Madrona was pretty good - maybe 10-15 ft. Not bad from what it was the week before.

Last Thurs-Fri the vis on the Cape Breton was about 40 ft. - really excellent.

Yeah Richard, you right the viz on the Cape Breton on Thursday was excellent, when you guys were diving the Cape we were diving on the Saskatchewan, we dove the Cape earlier on that morning. The wind did pick up during our dive on the Sask, good viz bad weather almost like diving in Feb instead of June. Of course we were diving from a open private boat not a comfortable boat like Diver's Choice Charter.
We stopped by Ken's boat and ask who were the 2 CCR divers on his boat, he told us that yourself, an OC diver and a diver from Alberta call Greg diving an rEvo were onboard. I knew that it most be the Mossman. I'm pretty sure that he's the only rEvo diver in Alberta. Anyway both dives on the wreck were good. The next day we did a few dives in the Saanich Inlet the viz was outstanding 50 to 70ft. Lot of cloud and boot sponges and long bottom time, love those CCR.

Cheers

Al

I got to get me one of those vacuum cleaners...aka..CCR ;)

Well it looks like internet shopping and the dive communities inability to work together (especially on the south island) has caused the loss of another local dive shop. Unfortunately Liquid Heaven Dive Experience is closing it's doors. The peninsula, home to some of the best diving we have, no longer has a dive shop or even an air supply! What gives guys? If divers don't wake up and realize that all the local shops are hurting and need our support we won't have any at all. Then who wins?
We all want cheap air and great deals on goods but by not buying locally we are only hurting ourselves and destroying the dive industry as a whole.
I'd like to thank Darryl and his daughter for everything they have done for me and the scores of other divers they have helped and provided services for. Liquid Heaven was a first class dive shop and Darryl is a first class guy and a first class instructor, they will be missed greatly!
Pull your heads out of the computer screens and help your local shops!
The shop will be open for the rest of the week so if you are interested all merchandise is going for a song. Go on in even if it's to just sit and have a coffee.

Appreciate the offer, but I am scared I might get hooked. :D
