The first few minutes with them can be a bit intimidating...but by the end of the dive you get use to it. They are playful and you have to watch your digits. Drop me a line if you want to go.

Last weekend vis around Tyee was passable and Snake Island was fairly good. The fishermen are upset about the low herring count but the divers aren't.

Herring spawn isn't the worst of it, when the algea plum shows up then everything becomes a crapshoot. that being said the vis in Campbell River area is usually 40+ all yr and should you wish to venture north of the Narrows to a lil place called rock bay there is some phenom diving there even if you don't venture out in the boat to Chatham point and just stay around the dock. Comox Valley has some really good diving as well and the vis below 60' mark is usually 30 or better as the plume usually dies off there but it tends to get dark, hence no plume. Should you CCR guys want to venture north and dive with some non-techy divers hit me up I'm the President of the Scuba Club at 19Wing Comox, I also know a few CCR divers

I know this is going to be a bit of a hijack, but since you started this forum, how about making a list of divers on Vancouver Island, and asking Ted S if we can start a group for Vancouver Island Divers. I'm also from the island.

I was wondering if there were any dive spots near Sidney/North Saanich area that are fairly good.

vicdiver656, there are quite a few good spots in the North Saanich area. I started a dive group called sundaydivers a few months ago.We meet at Liquid Heaven every Sunday morning and explore local sites as well as try to find new spots. We have had some pretty good luck and get a good turnout as well.No need to bring a buddy we are happy to pair up.FYI, Liquid Heaven has the lowest priced air on the south island just $5 a fill so now you have less of an excuse not to get wet!

I should have mentioned we have a group on facebook called sunday divers please check it out and feel free to join.

I think this forum can do without the spam!:shakehead:

If he works for or owns the shop and isn't making it obvious then the plug is out of order, but I'm certainly interested in where to get cheap air.

I don't know anywhere in Vancouver to get a $5 fill even with an air card, and would be grateful if someone let me know where to get the cheapest air.
