Snowbear:
who just quit the FD to be a mercenary (or some such occupation) in a sandy country. He used to live on Pepsi and M&Ms. 30 lbs would last about a week. I wonder if they melt in your hand when it's 120F in the shade?

LOL

Actually, wouldn't the question be more akin to..."Would they be solid at anytime...?"

120F in the shade is a bit much....Hard to justify a drysuit at those temps... :)

Why anyone needs 30 lbs and/or $30 worth of candy is beyond me...

"Need?!" I never claimed I needed the chocolate, but - I hate to turn down such a good deal.

Store it all in the fridge, and mix with mixed nuts - makes a great trail-mix, for plane travel, surface intervals, etc.

Speaking of M&Ms in bulk... http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/science/02/16/science.candy.reut/index.html So remember to get plain ones if you want to save 4% more space!

Cool link. I sent the story to Jordan @ Marquette University.

Don:
I love M&M's. If I could only pick one candy to eat they would be the ones. I even went to M&M's famous store in Vegas and bought all the colors.
But, 30 Lbs! Geez.. I don't have room in my freezer for all of those!
Enjoy!

That 30 pounds of M&M's would never make it to the freezer at my house.
As for storage: On the hips, baby, that's where I store my chocolate...on the hips!

I put most of it in my fridge - which was easy to do, as I don't really keep food at home anyway. Can you freeze chocolate without damage...?

When's Easter? First Sunday, after the first full moon, after the spring equinox? Old pagan holiday appropriated by Christianity. April 11. Should be a good canday sale that day, too!

Daddy Don, your a man after my own heart. Pass the M&M's please! :bounce:

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

It also made me think of something I saw years ago, back in Arlington, VA. It was right after Easter, and at People's drugstore, I ran into an old man who was stocking up on half price Cadbury cream eggs...he had about 20 that he told me he was planning to freeze so he'd have a supply on hand. Don, was this perhaps a relative of yours?

I love chocolate, but I'm with Kat on this, in more ways that one. It calls my name and it just won't stop!

You can freeze chocolate, sometimes the color alters a bit but that is merely cosmetic there's no effect on the flavor. I LOVE frozen M&M's (and Reeses Cups and Snickers Bars and well, you get the picture)!
