My dive buddy is having a problem with his Uwatec console. The SPG (analog) isn't working. I'm not sure which model he has but it came from LeisurePro within the last year, I think the computer is nitrox capable but is not AI. His first trip was to LDS that isn't a ScubaPro dealer. In addition to the lecture on the evils of LP he got absolutely nowhere. My first suggestion is to send it back to LP (if still under LP shop warranty) for repair. Incidently, I visited the ScubaPro web site and can't find anything about what the actual factory warranty duration is. Second suggestion is convert computer to wrist mount and then send in SPG only or if not under warranty, replace SPG with cheaper stand alone-no point in doing without computer as he has a spare SPG. My first question is, can the Uwatec's be converted easily to wrist mount, like a Suunto can? What does this take and can a SP LDS be avoided? Are there several different mounting kits or are Uwatec's generic as to wrist mount? Other question, my buddy claims that his computer doesn't have a temp gauge. This seems unlikely considering the state of modern dive computers. Are these displayed on a separate screen for Uwatec's?
