:06: I am thinking of purchasing a Uwatec Air Z Nitrox computer. I would like input from users or any advice. I am also considering a Suunto Cobra or Vyper. I am open to suggestions. Thanks!

I have the Uwatec Aladin Pro wrist mount, basically the same thing without the remote air pressure sensor.

In general, it's pretty good computer, but one thing I did not think to check into is whether it shows water temp. It does not. I'm not sure whether the other models you mentioned do.

One thing to keep in mind, if your diving plans are going to be anything beyond recreational, like going into Tech/wreck/cave, etc, then you'll want to stick with an analog pressure guage.

Personally, I don't like idea of having to depend on a piece of hi-tech gear to tell me how much gas I have left.

Also, I dive with 2 computers, one which does not give me all the functions the Aladin does, but, it does tell me how deep I am, water temp, and how long I've been down. Basic information I feel is important, but not life critical like knowing how much gas I have.

Basically, if one of my computers acts up, I'll call the dive. I compare them frequently during a dive.

Just my $.02 woth. ;)

You are correct Air Z does not have water temp. I would also have a backup computer as well as an SPG (just in case).

Then I suggest you save the extra $$ and buy the wrist mount that doesn't have the remote pressure guage. I know I can always find something to spend money on without buying something I don't need. ;)

We have the Uwatec Air Z Nitrox AI and it does give you the water temp---must download to PC...I know it's a pain to wait.

Also dive with Suunto Vytec wrist mount-which gives the water temp on the dive computer and we dive with SPG on our Second HP port.

We like both Nitrox computers they both have pos and neg issues.

They are both conservative which is why we purchased them.

I forgot to say, my backup computer is a Citizen Aqualung. Makes for a nice looking watch too.
