hi we were thinking of going to utila for whale sharks late march 21-30 but i hear its hit or miss plus theres the transfers from roatan etc..last time i was in roatan there was a drug plane dropping square groupers in the water overnight down by french harbor over our fishing lodge... we really liked the do it urself bonaire diving and are tempted to just go back there.... anyone know whats you chance of actually seeing a whale shark late march in utila? :idk:

Ask Steve Fox - Steve@DeepBlueUtila.com

He owns Deep Blue Utila - swim with whale sharks at our all inclusive resort. Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras - Whale Shark Research weeks.

Looks pretty good for Mar 29th-April 5th. We snorkeled with about 10 a few years ago during a Research Week. Others have never seen one after multiple attempts. In all fairness, we saw all ours in the 1st two days then then weather changed (hot and flat calm) and we didn't see another one - the speculation was that their food source was staying deep. None of the other snorkel boats found any either.
