Public Broadcasting System (PBS) television stations are currently running a documentary about the USS Indianapolis. The show discusses the ship's history, the atomic bomb delivery, the Japanese submarine attack and sinking, the terrible loss of life and the rescue of the small number of remaining survivors. It also includes interviews with some of the few survivors still living.

The show details the search for the wreck of the Indy and its' discovery 3.5 miles down in the Pacific Ocean in 2017. There is a lot of footage of the wreck and it is in surprisingly good condition after more than 70 years.

It is an an excellent and very moving documentary program.
