Yeah, that might be an issue. IIRC most petzl gear is designed to work with rope in the 14-18mm range. 25mm probably wouldn't fit!
Braided otters too. Most warps, shot lines, etc. are three line twisted rope that can be easily spliced. Climbing rope is braided.

Ascenders and other spiked jammers won’t work on twisted rope as there’s no braided outer to spike in to.

We use ascenders to assist pulling the shot/ down line up through (works a treat for lifting the heavy shot anchor with power of the boat), been using them for about 5 years for this purpose and they have held up fine in the harsh saltwater environment, none have failed. Also use them to tether the deco station to the shot/down line. I get them off mates who sump dive, rock climb etc, they are worn out for that purpose and have been condemned, but still fine for my purpose.

The type we use are like Petzl BASIC ASCENDER- Ascenders at Wall Toys.

While we use braided rope for our shot lines I have tried them on the more typical three strand ropes like silver and works fine, though need to be a continuous piece no knots, joins etc
