I am going with my buddy for the first week then his wife and my girlfriend are joining us the second week. We plan on doing only shore dives. We have rented a truck and plan to put it to good use.

Wouldn't mind having some suggestions about what is worth doing topside. Has anybody explored any of the caves? Do you have to have a guide for that? Horeseback riding? Jetskiing? anyone have any favorites?

I can't wait to get the story about this Charlie. ;)

The caves trips need to be guided ask your dive operator to suggest a guide. I am glad to say that Jet Skis are not available for hire, I have seen Horseriding advertised. Fishing trips can also be arranged. The Slaagbi Park is worth a trip, you will need the paper receipt that you get with your Marine Park disk. Have a great trip we are back in bonaire in just over 3 months time.

Washington-Slagbaai NP is a great trip while off-gassing... :)

#1 Topside Attraction this year for me: Windsurfing at Lac Bay (the lagoon on the East side) -- had a blast.

#1 Most Necessary Topside Activity this year for me: "neutralizing" the mosquitoes -- bring repellent.

Say hello to all of the turtles. We saw several a couple of weeks ago.

Blackrock,

If you just want to explore some caves and cave drawings, you can do that on your own, but I HIGHLY recommend Hans at Outdoor Bonaire to do a guided tour along with a cave snorkel. Also, the horseback riding is fantastic! Marion has a tour from around 8:30 am until just afternoon. You even get to "swim" with the horses! I don't think anyone rents jet skis (that I know of), but I can also recommend the landsailing. Our guests favorites are:

Cave Snorkeling/Exploration
Mangrove kayaking and snorkel
Horseback riding
Landsailing

You might also enjoy the butterfly farm and the donkey sancutary!

We can make the arrangements for you if you need. PM me or email me.

Thanks.

Liz

Follow the signs for the indian inscriptions. They were cool. We had a map with "scenic outlooks" from the tourism industry. They were nice. Check out Gotomer Flamingo Preserve and the Donkey Sanctuary. Do some landsurfing too. Forget where we saw it. Do the mangrove snorkle/kayaks in Lac Bay.

You needed to rent a vehicle? Most of the resorts provide one I thought, you may want to double check on that.

If you visit the Donkey Sanctuary take lots of carrots, we took more than 14lbs and still ran out.
