Used Regulator Hoses with Unknown History?

Of course the time is for a fully open hose, however most hose failures are less severe and give you more time.

And, unless the failure is at or close to the first stage, you can fold the hose over and further slow or even stop the leak.

Not that I would have ever tested this after forgetting to turn off the air when unscrewing a second stage I was servicing.

Man, was that loud.

I personally don't like hoses over 15 years old . Some signs of age:
Dryness, brittle, cracking, separation/tearing at the crimps, gummy kind of sticky feel.... I'm also not a fan of hose protectors as they trap water.

That's one reason why I dive doubles...

I have seen some very iffy hoses,

If it on HP side change it for sure..
My buddy's hose was looked fine he aired up the reg, and 5 mins later blew the end right off.

On low pressure side,
it's the same as shop air hose,
There are some sketchy hoses out there that don't blow...
