I was on ebay looking for some gear, i noticted that US divers gear was super cheap. I know they are out of buissness but why esle would it be so cheap?

US Divers is not out of business. They make some very good equipment.

My understanding is that US Divers was bought by Aqua Lung, and Aqua Lung decided to us the US Divers brand as the mass market (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc) brand. You can find very inexpensive combo sets usually labeled as snorkeling kits all over.
I don't know what the quality level is compared to other "SCUBA diving" gear.
Anyone have more detailed info?

Settling in with my hot buttered popcorn to watch this unfold. Should be entertaining.

Excellent gear at good prices, excellent customer service, regs easily maintained with parts available all over the place. There are price points in the offerings of most manufacturers, however Aqualung's quality is great. Dive it and see.

Auqualung has been a trademark of U.S. Divers since the days when J.C. was a sprite young man. The company has recently re-re-branded their diving gear as "Aqua Lung" (the original name) and retained the U.S. Divers label (name adopted in 1952) for their snorkeling gear. There is nothing wrong with U.S. Divers scuba equipment. It's just the older version of the new Aqua Lung scuba equipment.

Here is some info quoted from their website:
In 1948, sporting goods store owner Rene Bussoz acquired North American distribution rights to the Aqualung regulator, and in l952 launched U.S. Divers.

Soon, the Aqualung regulator was a U.S. diving industry phenomenon, capturing the attention of Air Liquide, a French manufacturer of industrial and medical gases, which bought U.S. Divers in 1958 and later changed the name to Aqua Lung America. By that time, more than 25,000 Aqualung regulators had been sold in this country -- and the public's fascination with the ocean depths endured.

In 1988, Air Liquide formed Aqua Lung International -- now the world's largest diving company – to facilitate company synergies and global distribution.

Today, both Aqua Lung International and Aqua Lung America are highly successful divisions of Air Liquide. With more than 200 employees in the U.S. and over 500 employees worldwide, Aqua Lung International now has 12 divisions throughout the world.

Cousteau served as chairman of the U.S. company’s board of directors for many years prior to his death in 1997. His vision and perseverance enabled Aqua Lung to become a worldwide leader in the production and distribution of the Aqualung regulator, and other top quality scuba diving equipment.

That should clear this up I would think.

http://www.usdivers.com/index.html on their website they only have snorkle gear advertised so they only make snorkle gear?

ALL their gear used to be branded "U.S. Divers" (there's a "U.S. Divers" AL80 tank laying in my dining room right now). Now only the snorkeling gear branded as U.S. Divers and the scuba gear is branded as Aqua Lung. Same company, just a change in product-line names. Today U.S. Divers means just the snorkel gear, but in the past it meant everything they made.

US Divers and SeaQuest owned by Air Liquide, huge french company. changed name a few years ago but still the same equipment. Now use some Seaquest technology(for BC's) but still good, reasonably priced gear.

They do not have a pricing policy like Scubapro, Seaquest, Dacor so very reasonably priced and retailers can discount heavily.
