At fillexpress I can rent a BP and when I buy it they ll deduce the cost of the rental from the purchase. I was thinking about the TransPlate from DiveRite or maybe a similar set up from OMS, what do you think, which one is the better brand?

To me the TransPlate is an odd compromise - sort of has some of the benefits of a BP/W while maintaining many of the drawbacks of a BCD.

:-)

If it were a beer it would be "tastes ok, more filling"

Over my 25 years of diving I have gone from jacket to Wing/BP back to( jacket because thats all my instructor sold and knew anything about).... and back to Wings and BP's....that I now sell.

So after a 1000 + dives I will say this. I feel constrained in a jacket bc. Zeagle style feels better and a wing/BP feels great! Air consumption is better due to no cumberbund being tight on the diaphram and better streamlining...and yes,I can tell the differance and so have my customers and students.....btw, they bought Oxycheq systems.
