I agree that you should mount the transmitter on a short HP hose to prevent someone from using the transmitter as a handle. Here's a good inexpensive hose. I prefer the 6" length. You need to order an air spool for connecting the transmitter to the hose.

My spouse finally moved from her Cobra and few years ago. After having several Petrels I initially bought myself the Perdix AI and on a couple fun dives before a trip my spouse tried my Perdix AI. I came back from the fun dives without my Perdix AI. So I bought another.

As for the built in rechargeable via user replaceable battery I am all for user replaceable. I spend enough time recharging the batteries for my strobes, if they crap out I can still dive.
