Would appreciate an update on the dive conditions in Monterey/Carmel if anyone have been diving today/tomorrow.

Trying to figure out if it will be worth the drive or not considering the windy weather and the crappy conditions/viz lately.

Cheers

Pt. Lobos was beautiful this morning. Viz was pretty soupy in the cove, but opened up to, oh, 50+ ft once you got outside of Whaler's. There was very little swell and very little surge.

On the other hand, while getting fills later in the afternoon, I overheard someone say Macabee "sucked".

So I'd definitely go, but I'd head to Carmel. Hope this helps.

Brother was at BW today for his AOW and said the vis sucked more than usual. We are going out on the cypress sea tomorrow so hopefully we can hit the carmel area (woot for 3 dive charters!)

We went out on the Beach Hopper over the weekend and dove Carmel Sat with nice viz 40+ and Sunday Lobos with similar conditions but better topside. Some folks did the Monterey Bay saturday afternoon and said the top 30' was pee soup with 10' viz below. The temps at Carmel and Lobos were a balmy 46.

Topside conditions were steller today just a bit of wind to make anchoring the boat a bit interesting. As I came back to the boat the small rear anchor cut lose so I decided to grab it and go for a ride ;-). The only bad part were the flies inside and near Whalers.

Went out on the cypress sea today and we hit some place off of carmel (the dive spot was a saddle between two pinnacles that was awesome), butteryfly house, and stillwater. Vis was great, water was cold, and I'm still swaying...

When will the dark side of the force convert this young Jedi knight into a Drysuit diver driven by warmth and comfort?

:D
