You just need the button and cap. High probability no. The newer A7C II has a front dial, which the A7C lacks.

I've been using this setup for a few years and shoot a lot of 1080/60 and 4k/30 video. Never had overheating issues even doing long 20-30 min clips (unattended tripod). It's a great setup, particularly when combined with the 28-60 and a WWL-1 lens.
