Just put my double HP130s together and it appears that one tank is slightly, and I mean slightly longer than the other. I followed the scubatoys video and read up on putting them together. When I lay them down flat on the floor, the distance between the isolater and the tank shoulders is even. The isolator can move freely. Its just when I stand them up they're on abit of an angle. Tanks are brand new, same hydro and the serial numbers are very close.

Did you request matched cylinders when you bought them? There's actually a fair amount of variation in the size of steel cylinders, especially around the neck length. If you plan to double cylinders, best to ask that they be exactly matched for length.

Ditto rainer's post. When I bought my 85's they were set up specifically for doubles. The shop requested matched sets since I think they bought like 10-12 sets. When my 72's were doubled up I was fortunate as one of the original tanks I took in had the epoxy lining and it could not be tumbled out. It was ok for air but not to be used for PPB. The shop had just gotten ina few older 72's and one matched. Even trade plus 10 for hydro on the new/old tank and I have a sweet set of 72's. If it's a real issue your only choice is to either try to see if you can get another tank or find a set of the OMS style boots and see if that evens em up.

It's not a technical problem since both tanks are the same service pressure. I used to night dive with a double rig consisting of a 72 and a 50 with a battery pack below the 50. Balanced well and held air. That was all that I needed.:D

Even though I told the vendor who I bought my Faber HP 100s from, that the would be used as doubles, they ended up being 1/4" off. I'm told that Worthingtons can vary as much as 1/2".

I ended up using 1/4" thickness of silicone sheeting between the tank and boot on the short one to make up the difference.

Worthingtons can be off by a fair amount, I had a buddy that had hte same problem... bearing in mind it's not a "problem" persay, they'll work fine as doubles, it just won't stand perfectly upright :)
